THE Somerset Arms in Semington will be hosting its first music and cider festival this Bank Holiday weekend.
Over the weekend, this Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May, visitors to the pub can expect live music, a selection of local ciders, barbecue and face-painting for the little ones.
The festivities will be the first big event organised by landlord John Adams, since he took over the pub last year. John says, “I’m hoping for a great weekend full of sunshine, a chilled atmosphere with delicious food and a great selection of local ciders for people to try – brought in especially for the event. I’d love to see the place buzzing.”
Live music will fill the pub and its beer garden over the two days, starting from 2pm until 9pm. John has booked a variety of local bands to entertain the crowds.
Headlining the Saturday night will be Local Heroes Inc, a rock, punk and indie cover band with an ever-growing set list ranging from Green Day to ACDC. Supporting them will be Sound Affects, who are described as a unique, highly experienced and skilled alternative acoustic duo, who perform original material, arranged in a classical acoustic format.
For the Sunday, The Will Blake Band, described as a young, vibrant rhythm, blues, rock n roll, boogie woogie soul band, will get people up on their feet dancing to their repertoire of over 30 years of music. Supporting them will be rock and roll band Dirty Public, who write and record their own music.
Alongside the festivities, the Somerset Arms will be serving food from its regular menu, including its gluten-free options. For more information about the pub, visit: www.somersetarmssemington.co.uk
