A musical with a difference is coming to Melksham, showing you how to avoid being scammed by rogue traders in an entertaining way.
Melksham Seniors group is to host Scambuster the Musical, by Solomon Theatre, on Monday 20th March at 2.30pm at the Assembly Hall.
The musical highlights the perils of being scammed by rogue traders and false competitions.
Based on a true story, meet Sydney the victim of a rogue tarmac tradesman and Mary who thinks she won the holiday of a lifetime. Featuring songs from the sixties, this funny and entertaining musical shows how easy it is to become a victim of scammers if you let down your guard.
Fake lotteries, boiler-house scams, psychic mailings, miracle health cures, fake holiday prizes, premium-rate promotions – these are all examples of scams highlighted by ‘Scambuster’.
Developed in partnership with Trading Standards, Police and Community Safety Officers, the key safety messages of ‘Scambuster’ comes through loud and clear, highlighting unscrupulous traders offering their services for badly done and over-priced work and encouraging better reporting of scams.

Tickets are available free of charge from the Assembly Hall and Melksham Tourist Information Centre on Church Street. All are welcome, particularly those over 55 years who are a target for scammers. Performance starts at 2.30pm, doors open at 1.45pm.
