The Bowerhill Ladies Group meet monthly at the Bowerhill Village Hall, Halifax Road, Bowerhill, Melksham. SN12 6YH Their next meeting is on Tuesday 20th September in the Village Hall at 7.45pm.
Organisers say, “The speaker will be local man, Matthew Middleditch MBE, QGM and the talk is entitled My Life in Bomb Disposal from Northern Ireland through Iraq to Afghanistan – the highs, the lows and hopefully a little bit of humour too!
“This will be an open meeting and we would love to see lots of visitors on the night. Everyone is welcome – we think this subject will be of interest to all, wives, husbands, partners, neighbours, friends and family, so do come along. Entrance for visitors is £3 and will include refreshments. You do not need to live in Bowerhill, many of our members hail from Melksham and the surrounding villages and towns.
“The entrance fees collected will be added to our donation for Matthew’s chosen charity – helping to purchase prosthetic running legs for a young lady, the daughter of a colleague, who lost her legs to sepsis during lockdown.”
