LOCAL businesswoman Lorraine Mahoney from Little Voices NW Wiltshire & Bath has recently won the Award for Achievement & Innovation at this year’s Little Voices Annual Symposium in Leamington Spa.
The event brought together Little Voices franchisees from across the UK to share knowledge and best practice and plan for the next 12 months.
“It was totally unexpected but I love being creative within my business,” says Lorraine. “Last year I was able to take Little Voices to Gibraltar and work with the children on the military base there. This year we have specific workshops aimed at 12 to 16 years olds to give them a chance to look at various musical theatre shows without a long ongoing commitment, giving them a safe space to explore emotions, friendships and to be expressive.
“Little Voices is not a stage school or a drama club but a place where we prepare pupils for their futures through the medium of performing arts. We focus on helping them with good eye contact, communication skills, correct posture, the ability to deal with anxiety and nerves, effective speaking and presentation skills and so much more. Exams with LAMDA are also an option for those wishing to gain qualifications.”
Little Voices NW Wiltshire & Bath was established in January 2019 and has continued to grow. With centres currently in Melksham, Trowbridge, Corsham, Westbury and Derry Hill, parents have choices of varying days and times to suit them. Lorraine has already booked in the Easter Holiday workshops and Summer Theatre Week and more information on Little Voices can be found at www.littlevoices.org.uk or WhatsApp Lorraine on 07756 312881.
