National Play Day is, as the name suggests, the UK’s day for play, and this year will take place on Wednesday 2nd August.
Run by Play England, it is a celebration of children’s right to play, and a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives. More information can be found at www.playday.org.uk
Christie Miller Sports Centre in Melksham will be joining in with the Play Day fun and has a morning of free fun planned for the family, with the following timings:
9.00-11.00am – Free Ten Pin Bowling! Come along with your child and enjoy a free game of ten pin bowling.
11.00-11.30am – Tots Tennis for children aged 3 to 5 years old and enables them to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities, based on the fundamental areas of balance, co-ordination, agility, movement and racket and ball skills.
Mini tennis coaching is the ideal way for 5-10 year olds to discover the game and improve their skills.
12.00-12.30pm – Family circuits suitable for age 11-99. Enjoy 30 mins of fun, learn new exercises and get fit together
