A NEW amateur photography group has been set up in Melksham and they are hunting for new members to join.
The new group has been organised by locals Julie Lavery and Becky Hatfield, who identified that there wasn’t a photography group local enough for people in the community who don’t drive and enjoy taking photographs.
The keen photographers met for the first time earlier this month at the Kings Arms Hotel. “People are at different stages in their photography which is great and it was good to see everyone helping each other,” said Julie.
“A theme was set for this fortnight, black and white photography, and members have been asked to share their photos on the Facebook page for the group.
“The group will meet fortnightly on a Thursday night. The next meet is Thursday 26th October from 7pm until 9pm at the Kings Arms.
“If the weather is good then we will be walking around taking photographs, sharing skills on night time, non-flash photography.
“If it is wet, then we’ll stay in the Kings Arms and people attending will need to bring an item from home (it can be an item of food) to photograph.”
