The former Tavern pub in the Market Place reopens next week as The Market Lounge – a café, bar and restaurant for all ages of the community.
And for those who have been craving a place to dance the night away at the weekend in the town, The Market Lounge will stay open until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays with a disco.
The Market Lounge will open its doors for the first time on Saturday 16th November at 11am, serving food and drinks throughout the day until 9pm. A disco will round-off the ‘launch day’, running until 2am.
Leanne Kaplan, who is opening the new business with her husband Alper Kaplan, and business partner Pete Oldknow, told Melksham News, “We are very excited to launch The Market Lounge and show the community what we have done with the place – I think it looks great! It feels like there is lots of excitement in the town about the opening – so come and have a look next weekend.”
The next day, on Sunday 17th November, The Market Lounge will be serving its very first carvery – a speciality for the new bar and restaurant.
From Monday 18th November, regular opening hours will be Monday to Thursday 11am to 11pm; Friday 11am to 2am; Saturday 10am to 2am; Sunday 10am to 11pm. Food will be served until 9pm on all days.
Leanne said, “We want to make this a place for the whole community, and for The Market Lounge to be a real focal point in the heart of the town – families are very welcome. A takeaway service will also be available.”
