MELKSHAM’S new pub and restaurant, which is being built opposite the Melksham development site, Ashville Centre on the A350 near Bowerhill, is set for a planned opening in June. The name of the new pub and restaurant, The Milk Church, was chosen in a competition of local residents.
Ashville has already project managed the design and build of 15 business units on the 8.3 acre site, all of which are now sold or let to independent occupiers.
Ashville say, “With the introduction of Hall and Woodhouse, local companies will now have somewhere close at hand for client entertainment and working lunches; enjoying the hospitality of a family brewery which has been running since 1777. This new establishment will also serve commuters and visitors travelling along the A350 between Chippenham and Trowbridge, a major trunk road to the South Coast. The latest addition to the Ashville Centre makes it ideal for other complementary businesses such as a hotel or a head office seeking a bespoke building.”
This idea was echoed by David Hoare, director of Hall & Woodhouse, who said, “The Melksham development site lends itself to a variety of both leisure and commercial uses and we and Ashville have worked in hand in glove to deliver a high quality facility for local residents, businesses and visitors.
“Hall & Woodhouse have been brewing Badger beer and running excellent public houses for over 235 years and the Milk Churn will be a wonderful addition to the estate. We’re delighted to have worked closely with a visionary company such as Ashville to develop this prestigious pub/restaurant in an economically vibrant part of the country.”
Ashville have extensive experience both in residential and commercial developments and feel that Hampton Park West has the right combination to be a great centre for business.
Spencer Crowder, a director of Ashville commented, “We can see exactly why Hall and Woodhouse would invest in this area; they seem to recognise well located commercial development land is scarce, especially a flexible site which can grow with your business. With signs of the economic recovery and Hall and Woodhouse as an ideal hub, we are targeting new suitable occupiers for the remaining five acres.”
Nearby are other high profile businesses such as Avon Rubber, Knorr Bremse and G-Plan Furniture. With a new link road to Bowerhill Industrial Estate running directly from the site entrance and its prominent location fronting the A350, Ashville anticipate the business park will attract many more new and vibrant businesses to the area.
