AT a recent Melksham Lions meeting, Jim Whyborn handed over the presidency to Keith Mead.
Jim Whyborn has been president of the club for the last two years and in that time has achieved much of note. In particular Jim was responsible for the instigation of the donation of emergency reception packs to a local hostel for vulnerable homeless persons. A task which continues to provide some much needed help to people at maybe their lowest point.
Keith Mead takes over the presidency after 16 years of service with Lions International. Keith has been a member of the Melksham Lions Club for around 18 months and in that time served as Membership Chairman.
In addition Melksham Lion Simon White, a founder member of the club in 1974, was presented with a personal gift by Jim of a, ‘Presidents Appreciation Award’. The award was to say big thank you for all the work he has done and continues to do behind the scenes to support the club activities.
