Full-time community radio station could be on-air within 12 months
Melksham is to get its very own full-time local radio station, after the regulator Ofcom awarded a licence to Radio Melksham Limited, a new not-for-profit company set up to deliver that service.
The new radio station is expected to start broadcasting within the next 12 months.
They say, “Radio Melksham will be a truly local radio service for the community of Melksham and the surrounding areas including Shaw, Atworth, Beanacre, Lacock, Semington and Whitley. It will be run by volunteers from the community, supporting local groups and organisations, whilst providing entertainment and great music for the area’s residents at home and at work.
“It will be broadcast on FM, online via its website, and via streaming apps. If you would like to get involved, either on-air or in back-office operations, the team would like to hear from you.
