The society hosted Andy King at the Rachel Fowler Centre for our monthly meeting on 29th August.
The topic was bearded iris. Andy gave a fascinating and in-depth presentation on the many and varied forms of iris before focusing on his specialty, bearded iris. I think most of us were stunned to discover there are around 70,000 named varieties of iris. There was also a short demonstration on dividing and replanting iris.
The date of the Society’s 13th Flower and Produce Show is Sunday 17th September at the Assembly Hall, doors are open to the public from 2pm to 4:30pm, come along and check out the exhibits.
