MELKSHAM Oak School has offered reassurance that it is taking the necessary preventative measures after the news that a student has tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19).
A spokesperson from the White Horse Federation, who manage the school, has told Melksham News that the school is taking all the necessary measures to protect all students and staff that are continuing to use the school.
The school will remain open for all years except Years 9 and 10.
In a letter to parents and carers, principal of Melksham Oak, Alan Henderson, said, “We have been advised that a student at Melksham Oak has been tested positive for Covid- 19. The student last attended the school on Friday 13th March.
“We have been advised by Public Health England to continue with our preventative control. This includes how we communicate the government guidance and the cleaning schedule for the school. “Until advised otherwise by the Public Health England the school will remain open for all years except Year 9 and 10.
“All communication regarding Covid-19 should be directed to the chat facility on the school website. This can be identified by the question mark at the bottom of the screen.”
