WILTSHIRE Online provides one-to-one support to help people get online and become confident in with the internet. They are beginning a computer club at Melksham Library, starting on Thursday 20th August, 5.30pm-7pm.
Some of the many things you will learn include learning how to set up and use an e-mail account, learn how to use social media safely and help with surfing the web and setting up favourites.
Dorothy Barker from Melksham said, “Bearing in mind we are not youngsters, we found volunteer Digital Champion Myles really helpful and patient. This gave confidence and a good start to use a lot of programs that we didn’t understand including skype to contact and see our family in Australia. Myles even gave me a certificate to celebrate how much I had learnt.”
If you are interested in learning how to get online and make more of your computer device, call and register your interest on 0300 456 0100 and quote ‘Wiltshire online computer club.’
You are invited to bring your laptop, tablet device or smartphone along to the library to use the free WIFI.
Wiltshire Online is also always looking for volunteers to help with the classes. As a volunteer you will be helping members of the local community to get online and carry out basic tasks with their PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Full training is providing and travel expenses are paid for.
