MELKSHAM Without Parish Council met with local MP Michelle Donelan last week to discuss a number of local issues.
On the agenda was questions about a change in legislation to allow for remote meeting attendance for local councils; planning topics including neighbourhood plans and Wiltshire Council’s lack of 5 year land supply for new housing; and a number of highway issues, including the impact of Bath’s closure of Cleveland Bridge and the proposed Melksham A350 bypass.
After the meeting, chair of the parish council, cllr John Glover, said “Michelle gave us some useful information on who to contact for some issues, and took on board comments and background information we provided that she was not aware of. She also agreed to provide feedback on a couple of issues.”
Vice chair of the parish council, cllr David Pafford, added, “It was a useful meeting and I was encouraged by Michelle’s level of engagement.”
