A LOCAL charity group for disabled people raised more than £300 at its annual bingo night last month.
Wiltshire & Swindon Phab Club – which has a branch in Melksham – held its annual bingo night at the Wyvern Club in Devizes on Friday 21st October, with members and friends supporting the evening in aid of club funds.
Secretary Michael Braund said, “This was a fabulous evening with 74 people supporting the event and a record amount was raised of £ 314.35.
“We wish to thank the Martin Bonnice and the friends of The Wyvern Club for making us so welcome, and also Ron Jordan and Stan Bowles of Crammer Court for acting as callers for the Bingo.
“There was a draw and refreshments which all added to a fantastic amount being raised.”
The Wiltshire & Swindon county club supports smaller branches throughout the area. It is currently looking for advertisers for its quarterly magazine, which is distributed to around 225 members, and also for new volunteers.
