PILOT Music Night held their final gig before the summer break on Wednesday 17th June.
The next Pilot gig will take place on Wednesday 23rd September, and then on the third Wednesday of the month in October, November and December.
Organiser Mel Austin said, “We have a provisional date of Saturday 3rd October for our annual Colerne Music Fund charity event.
“Please get in touch if you would like to perform at this fundraiser, which normally takes place in The Rachel Fowler Centre and attracts some of the very best local young talent in one show.
“Also get in touch if you would like to do a headline or support slot (or know acts who would) at the Pilot gigs in the autumn.”
Mel has also provided an update on music in Melksham.
He continued, “Heather, Courtney and Hangar 18 will perform at Melksham’s Party In The Park on Saturday July 18th, but Izzy has withdrawn from ChippFest on July 4th in Chippenham.
“Best wishes to Rioja who will be performing in the final of the new national songwriting competition in Camden Lock.
“Do check out the latest album produced and mixed by our own Dan Austin – debut from Kid Wave called ‘Wonderlust” – really great infectious music, recorded in a kind of ‘american radio’ low-fi style.
“Reminds me of Fountains of Wayne or early UK indie bands Denim and Sleeper.
“He also has a number one single in Germany with ‘Love Amongst Ruin’, which he recorded ages ago with ex-Placebo drummer Steve Hewitt ( now in own band Love Amongst Ruin and also drums for Six By Seven).
“Also check out the album by Repo-Man recorded by Dom Bailey at Nine Volt Leap studio in Melksham. This was released on a label run by Charlie Romijn from Thought Forms. Link for this is: www.lavathief.bandcamp.com/album/minesweeping.”
