PLANS for a café to move into the Pavilion at the King George V Park are still brewing, raising questions about whether it will open on 1st April as planned.
Sources from Melksham Town Council have revealed that the council has yet to find an occupier to run the café and work is ongoing to find a suitable occupant.
The council was hoping for a café to be launched in time to coincide with the start of the Easter holidays and the opening of the Splashpad in the King George V Park, which is due to open on 31st March.
Earlier this year, the council asked for expressions of interest to be made from any operator who would like to run the café in the park. Of the 13 expressions of interest, candidates from a shortlist were invited to give a presentation of their business idea for running the café to a panel from the council at the end of February.
Melksham Town Council have been approached for an update but had not responded by the time the paper went to press.
