Great Chalfield, a beautiful medieval manor given to the National Trust in 1943 by Robert Fuller, and recently featured in the BBC productions of ‘Poldark’ and ‘Wolf Hall’, is the perfect setting for the Plant Fair on Sunday 5th May from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
Organisers say, “It’s a great time for plant hunting and buying in the forecourt of the manor, next to the parish church. You will also have an opportunity to wander around the beautiful arts and crafts gardens designed by Alfred Parsons RA and enjoy fish and chips (provided by That Fish Guy) and tea in the barn (provided by Jamie’s Farm).
“Admission is £4 for adults (including members of the National Trust); children are free. Come and enjoy a productive visit as well as supporting the maintenance and development of the garden at Great Chalfield and Jamie’s Farm, based in Box, which provides a unique combination of family, farming and therapy to help transform the lives of vulnerable urban teenagers.”
