A pedestrian who died following a collision with a car in Melksham earlier this month has been named.
Thomas Collis, 60, from Melksham, died from the injuries he sustained following the collision on the A350 Beanacre Road at approximately 6pm on Saturday 18th January.
His family have issued a short statement. They say, “Thomas Collis known locally to his friends and family as Tommy or Tom, will be truly missed by all.”
Following the collision, the road was closed for a number of hours while collision investigation work was carried out.
Police say, “We are trying to identify potential witnesses this fatal collision on the A350. Our investigation is currently ongoing and we have been examining dash cam footage. This has identified a number of vehicles which could have drivers or passengers who witnessed something which could assist our enquiries. These are: • A silver Mark 5 Vauxhall Astra Estate (2004-2010) • A black 2008 BMW 3 series convertible with a hard top and possibly black alloys. • A white Ford Transit Connect van with a roof rack and non-standard alloys • A Hyundai Kona, colour unknown • A white Mercedes Sprinter crew cab • A white Suzuki Swift.
