Melksham Probus held their meeting at the Kings Arms, Melksham, on 1st May.
The club reports, “After a good roast lunch and dessert, we had a talk from Lt. Col. Bill Common, who had spent 40 years in the Army. When he retired he became secretary to S.S.A.F.A. which provides life-long support to our forces and their families.
“If you are currently serving, or have served, in The British Army, The Royal Navy or The Royal Air Force then S.S.A.F.A. are there for you and your family for life.
“They understand that your time in the forces can impact on you now or in the future, as there are times when you may need a little practical help from one of the 92 branches.
“At S.S.A.F.A. they have been supporting our forces and their families for more than 125 years. At the present time they continue to help thousands of people in many different ways.
“After many questions, by members, a vote of thanks was given for a very eye-opening talk.”
