A live screening of the BBC’s Last Night of the Proms will return this year to King George V Park this Saturday 13th September.
The free event will run from 7pm until approximately 10.30pm, with one interval, and the concert will be broadcast live on a big screen directly from London’s Royal Albert Hall.
This year there will be a wide variety of food and drink vendors to help people make an evening of it. Attendees are also invited to bring their own picnics, blankets, chairs, and Union Jack flags to celebrate the occasion.
Melksham Town Council is organising the event and says that, although the evening is free, donations towards this year’s Mayor’s charities, Fear Free and the Bath and Wiltshire Air Ambulance, will be appreciated.
Last year saw the first-ever screening of the Last Night of the Proms in Melksham’s King George V Park, where residents enjoyed the concert and joined in with the final song, Auld Lang Syne.
After eight weeks and over 80 concerts, the 2025 BBC Proms concludes with a Last Night spectacular, packed with musical surprises, star turns and all the traditional favourites.
