The Foresters Arms in Melksham held a family fun day on Saturday 4th August in aid of Blesma, the limbless veterans’ charity, raising over £1,500.
The event saw a crowd of all ages enjoy a day of entertainment, food and drink to raise money for Blesma who help all serving and ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs, or lost the use of limbs or eyes, to rebuild their lives by providing rehabilitation activities and welfare support.
There was live music including Six Lives Left, the Ray Jones Band, Falling Fish, El Nino and guest DJs and a harmonica/ukulele band. A hog roast, barbecue, bouncy castle, face paints and cider tent were also part of the day. The final total raised by the team and guests was £1,500.91.
Bev and Nick Dempsey, owners of the pub said, “We had great support for the whole day and an amazing turn out to support this good cause. Thank you to everyone from all the bands who played and gave their time for free, through to all our amazing staff who helped us pull the day off.. thank you!“
