Planet Art is hosting a public art consultant event at the Melksham Food and River Festival on Saturday 31st August.
People from George Ward Gardens, former staff and pupils from George Ward School, and local residents in Melksham are being encouraged to participate in the event and give their opinion and ideas for a series of public art pieces around the George Ward Gardens Persimmon Homes site.
At the event, visitors will have a chance to find out more about the scheme and meet the artists involved. They will also be encouraged to fill out a questionnaire and voice their opinion about the project.
The work has been commissioned by Persimmon Homes and being developed in partnership with the community.
The artists will also be at the celebrations for the anniversary of Melksham’s market charter on Sunday 29th September in King George V playing field. Also in September, Planet Art will be working with local schools to develop the ideas. For further information please visit the Facebook page ‘George Ward Public Art’.
