Children from the River Mead School joined a ‘virtual choir’ last week in a rendition of “Count On Me” by Bruno Mars to help raise money to beat cancer.
The children met with Bath-based choral director Matt Finch at an assembly last week to record the song on video whilst collecting donations to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Matt is collating videos of choirs, duets and solos all singing different parts of the song submitted to MyVideoChoir.com to form a collaborative virtual choir who will perform the song on YouTube later this year.
All participants to the project are asked to donate to Cancer Research UK before they submit their video.
Matt said, “It’s great that these children can get involved in raising money for something that they truly can relate to. So often it’s always about running marathons, shaving your hair or giving up smoking!
“This is something that the whole school can get involved in, and join others of all ages and learn the song and be part of a choir to help beat cancer.”
