Pupils at a Melksham primary school have each planted a bulb to nurture and watch grow over the school year.
Every pupil at Forest and Sandridge CE Primary School took part, with a total of 500 bulbs planted.
The bulbs were planted on 30th January and were part of the school’s vision of ‘Nurture, Grow, Flourish.’ The initiative was organised by the school’s PTA, Forest Friends.
Deputy headteacher James Mead said, “Children nurtured their bulbs with care, will watch them grow over time and will eventually see them flourish into colourful blooms. The project aims to strengthen children’s connection with nature while celebrating the idea that small acts of care can lead to something beautiful.”
The bulbs were donated by Ecolibrium Environmental Contract-ing and Max Hardman, who is a parent at the school.
Melissa Hardman from Ecolibrium Environmental Contracting said, “We were really pleased to support Forest and Sandridge CE Primary School by donating 500 bulbs, one for every child to plant, and by preparing the ground so each pupil could take part. Projects like this are a great way to help young people connect with nature in a hands-on, memorable way.”
