Read Easy Melksham has just held its fourth AGM and the group reports that their dedicated and enthusiastic management team has been re-elected en masse.
They say, “Our team leader, David Williams, gave a brief report on the past year’s progress, emphasizing the many reasons some adults struggle to read and how Read Easy can help with its free, confidential and one-to-one coaching service.
“Grateful thanks was given to all the local organisations who recognise the value of the work that we do and have supported and continue to support us financially. Our reading coaches and venue holders were gratefully thanked as well. The highlight of the afternoon was another report written and read by Helen, one of Read Easy Melksham’s first graduates. She waived her right to anonymity to tell everyone how learning to read with us had changed her life for the better and even had a positive effect on the people she works with.
“We are in the fortunate position of having a few reading coaches in Melksham who are currently “spare”. If you know of anybody who does struggle to read and would like some help, please ask them to contact Read Easy Melksham on 07468 852655 or email liz@readeasy.org.uk. More information can be found on the website www.readeasy .org.uk or see the readeasymelksham Facebook page.
“As our voluntary work grows in Melksham we are also seeking new members to join our very friendly management team.”
