The relaunch of the 55+ Monday Club will take place at the Forest Community Centre on Monday 1st June at 1.30 pm.
Terri Welch, on behalf of the club said, “The Monday Club started with great success in January but due to over enthusiastic speakers in February, numbers dropped.
“The idea of the club remains the same, a fun afternoon giving people a chance to get out, meet old friends and make new friends while taking some gentle exercise.
“On Monday 1st June there will be a chance to have a go at new age curling, the indoor version of the famed Scottish sport, even possibly start a curling league if there is enough enthusiasm. The usual sing along with Sue is always well received, with old favourites being enjoyed and audience participation where appropriate, on the dance floor.
“The ethos of the group is to have a fun afternoon and at the same time to find out other events and activities that are available in Melksham. There will be a newsletter giving a list of these available, the idea being to encourage people to get out and about and join the many activities that our community has to offer.
“The Monday club starts at 1.30pm on Monday 1st June and will take place the first Monday of each month. The cost is £3 for the afternoon. If there are sufficient people booking, the Community Bus will pick people up at home and return them after the event; for this pre-booking is required, so contact the Tourist Information Centre on 01225 707424. Please book sufficiently ahead to make sure of your seat.
“We are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends, so do come along and join us at the Forest Community Centre.”
