A local primary school is celebrating after receiving ‘glowing praise’ in a recent Ofsted inspection.
River Mead Primary School was recently visited by Ofsted where inspectors highlighted the school’s ‘remarkable ability’ to create a warm, inclusive environment ‘where every child is supported to succeed, reflecting its core vision of being a place where everyone feels valued, happy, and safe.’
The inspectors described River Mead as a ‘very special place’ and emphasised the dedication of staff to go above and beyond in supporting pupils to flourish.
Parents have also spoken favourably of the school, noting that it knows their children ‘inside out.’ One parent said, ‘the school cares about my children just as much as I do.’
Children, also said they felt happy, safe and proud to be part of River Mead. In the report, leadership at River Mead was described as ‘exceptional,’ with inspectors commending leaders’ relentless efforts to ensure pupils’ success.
A spokesperson for the school said, “From high-quality teaching, through to the carefully sequenced curriculum, inspectors found the school provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The report also noted how children benefit from a rich and engaging educational experience, including a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities and leadership roles that foster confidence and resilience.
“River Mead’s commitment to supporting all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, was highlighted and celebrated. The school was described as ‘ambitious’ and having ‘high expectations for every pupil.’
“The school’s Resourced Base provision and tailored support ensure that every child is given the tools to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As well as celebrating the academic success, inspectors also noted how deeply committed the school is to the personal growth and character development of the children.
“Rich opportunities are threaded through all aspects of the school and children benefit from experiences within the performing arts, sports, and imaginative play.”
