ALOERIC Primary School pupil, Ruby Bennett, will be hopping on her bike for charity next week.
The 10-year-old will be cycling 19 miles – 75 laps of her local park in Bowerhill – on Saturday 9th April to raise money for Genesis Trust, a charity in Bath that helps vulnerable and homeless people.
Ruby has set herself a fundraising target of £75, and has so far raised £40. It will be the second time Ruby has got pedalling for the charity.
“Last year I did 50 laps (13 miles) and raised £370,” said Ruby, “and I hope I will get past my target of £75 this year.”
Ruby’s mum, Kelly Lanegan, adds, “Ruby has chosen Genesis Trust as I ran the London Marathon for them last year and every Christmas she donates a reverse advent box to Genesis to help people in need. She wants to help people that are homeless.”
