MELKSHAM’S drive-through McDonald’s announced its re-opening at 11.00am today, causing instant gridlock in traffic as local people rushed to renew their love of the fast food.
The restaurant is based at the busy junction of Beanacre Road in Melksham, with passing traffic using the A350. With excess traffic, there was a surge in vehicle numbers heading to the area. As frustration at the queues built, drivers were pulling out on to the wrong side of the road to get by.
A carer who was trying to get to a property behind McDonald’s, expressed concern that the gridlock would prevent her from reaching her client.
