Santa will taking some time out of his busy schedule to visit Melksham again this year and he is really looking forward to seeing everyone again.
He will be travelling around on the Melksham Lions’ sleigh accompanied by his reindeers. One of his helpers has given a hint as to where he’ll be visiting, so make sure you come and say hello to Santa.
Angie Chatham from Melksham Lions Club said, “We will have our helpers assisting with street collections at the same time as keeping Santa company. We would really appreciate it if you could give a donation.
“As the Lions Club of Melksham has taken Santa around the town for many years, the Melksham community have always given generously in which we thank you. All donations received will be used to help good causes within our community.
“We don’t like to disappoint, however if there is inclement weather during December, unfortunately we shall not be out with the sleigh; we cannot have Santa getting stuck or catching a cold.
“During December we will also be collecting at various supermarkets within the town on a Saturday and Sunday with the sleigh and feeling very festive. We thank each and every one of you for your support and kind hearts.
“If you are out and about and have a few minutes to spare, come and say hello to us. We always like meeting new people.
“At the same time as giving generously, if you have any old spectacles that are no longer needed, we will gladly take them off your hands.
“The Lions Club shall be at the turning on of the Christmas lights and we hope to see everyone there.
“We wish to take this opportunity in wishing everyone a happy and safe Christmas and New Year.”
