Aloeric School encourages children to walk, scoot or bike to school.
So that they keep safe, they learn valuable skills, and recently KS1 and KS2 children had scooter training at school in glorious sunny weather.
Scooter skills were taught through demonstration, discussion and replication using their own scooters. They were taught how to make sure that their scooter was well maintained, how to share a pavement, where to scoot and where not to scoot and how to be a responsible scooter rider.
The children had to demonstrate stopping, balance skills and controlled manoeuvring around a coned slalom course.
Each child received a participation certificate listing the skills and topics that they had covered and thoroughly enjoyed the training.
