The children at Seend School, in lieu of paying a donation for non-uniform day on the last day of term, brought in packets, tins and boxes of food for Melksham Foodbank.
When the rep from Melksham Foodbank collected the items, she was so grateful and said that it had come just in time as their stocks were getting very low.
Mrs Chalk, Headteacher said, “We always collect donations at harvest for the foodbank, but last year I suddenly had the idea that rather than the children pay £1 to come to school in their Christmas themed clothes, it would be far nicer to collect food for the Melksham Foodbank. As it proved so popular with the staff and parents, I thought I would do it again this year.”
