It’s almost time for the biennial Shaw Village Fair which will open at 12.00 midday on Saturday 17th May at The Beeches, Shaw.
The Fair will be held in conjunction with the Stampede 10k multi-terrain run and Keane Kanter. The Stampede starts at 2.00pm and the day closes with Stampede prize giving at 4.00 pm.
There will be numerous stalls set up around the field selling homemade foods and craft products and David Harris has once again agreed to display his wonderful selection of vintage cars.
The full programme will include pony rides provided by Mountjoy Stables. There will also be children’s races and games, and a bouncy castle.
As part of Melksham Town Football Club’s ‘Festival Of Football’ programme they will be presenting an ‘under 6s’ round robin football display. If there are any budding Steve Gerrards in the area this is the place to find out about local opportunities.
Corsham Wind Band will be returning this year to provide musical entertainment.
Refreshments will include hamburgers, hotdogs and soft drinks from the barbecue stall and homemade cakes, tea and coffee in the village hall.
For those keen runners within the community it is still not too late to enrol for the 6 mile Shaw Stampede and you may do so by downloading an entry form from www.avonvalleyrunners.org.uk.
Parents and children who wish to participate in the Keane Kanter 2 kilometre fun run need only turn up on the day.
