LOCAL couple Jeanette and Mike Nash, better known as The Melksham Pearlies, are starting a sing-a-long group starting on Wednesday 13th April at the Melksham Riverside Club, 2-4pm.
The Melksham Pearlies performed for a total of 22 years before hanging up their costumes in March 2015.
Jeanette said, “Everyone is invited to come to the sing-a-long. The cost is yet to be worked out, but will be minimal just to help cover the cost of hall rental.
“This is singing just for fun and if you enjoy singing come along. You don’t need to be a singer, you don’t need to read music, you don’t need to sing on your own. We will provide the music, which we’ve had professionally made for us, we will provide the words and everyone will provide the voices. The songs are easy to sing and mostly well known.”
Tea, coffee and biscuits will also be provided. Contact them on 01225 340589 or email Jeanette.m.nash@gmail.com
Over the years, The Melksham Pearlies have donated the majority of their profits to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, a total of £18,100, plus smaller donations to various other charities. In March 2015 they donated £100 each to Children in Need, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer’s Society UK.
