TICKETS for Melksham Town FC vs. Manchester United Legends are selling like hot cakes and over 1,300 were sold in just three days last week.
Football fans should make sure they get their tickets this week for the once-in-a-lifetime game, as they flew off the shelves after news of the game featured in the last issue of the Melksham Independent News.
Tickets will go back on sale from 5pm to 8pm this Thursday, 11th July, at The Conigre ground at Melksham House.
Melksham Town’s first team manager Darren Perrin said, “Ticket sales are going better than we could ever have imagined. We sold over 1,300 in three days last week, so we’re absolutely delighted.
“Local people are really excited about the game – bringing the brand name of Manchester United to Melksham is something very special. We’ve had people queuing for over an hour – the demand has been unbelievable.
“The tickets are definitely going to sell out, so make sure you snap yours up this week.”
The game, to be held at 4pm on Sunday 16th October, will be on the opening weekend of Melksham’s new £7million ground at Woolmore Farm.
Town’s first team will play a squad of former Manchester United players including Champions League winners Denis Irwin and David May and FA Cup winners Frank Stapleton, Sammy McIlroy and Lee Martin. The United squad will also include Mike Duxbury, Clayton Blackmore, Russell Beardsmore, Peter Davenport, Andy Ritchie, Ben Thornley, Arthur Albiston,, Deiniol Graham, Alan McLoughlin, and Fraser Digby.
It is set to be a historic day for the club and a game to remember for years to come.
Tickets cost £12 for adults, £8 for OAPs, £6 for under 16s, or £32 for a family of four. Payment is by cash or cheque only.
