STAFF from Melksham Oak School thrilled audience members last month at the annual ‘Strictly Come Melksham’ show.
Competing in pairs, 10 of the school’s teaching staff took to the stage in a bid to be crowned winners of the dancefloor.
Producers and choreographers for the show, Tamsin Crook and Emily Goodall, told Melksham News, “Our 10 dancers were Amie Hayden-Smith and Laura Rossiter, Mark Surowiec and Rebecca Taylor, Elizabeth Edwards and Adam Pimm, Holly Newman and Simon Richmond and Julie Cobb and James Stone.
“Our top three couples after the audience vote in the interval were: Mark Surowiec and Rebecca Taylor, performing a medley from Pulp Fiction; Holly Newman and Simon Richmond; and Julie Cobb and James Stone.
“Our winners of the ‘People’s Champion Award’ (the couple with the most audience votes) were Julie Cobb and James Stone performing their version of ‘(I’ve had) The Time of My Life’ from Dirty Dancing – including the lift!
“The overall winners who lifted the winner’s cup (voted by the judges) were Holly Newman and Simon Richmond performing ‘The Power of Love’ from Back to the Future – their dance included the worm and some sassy dance moves!”
