A school in Melksham held its first-ever scarecrow trail recently, with families taking part in the Disney and Pixar-themed event.
Aloeric Primary School raised £858 from the event, with all funds going towards the school. The money will help make school trips more affordable for families and provide other resources for pupils.
The school’s PTA, Friends of Aloeric Primary School, said, “The streets were buzzing with families taking part and gave a real community feel to the event.
“The scarecrow that received the most votes for ‘favourite’ scarecrow was made by the Simpson family and they made Forky from Toy Story.
“We loved organising the event and as it has been such a big success, we will be planning to organise another trail next year with even more scarecrows.
“The lucky winners of the £50 Reel Cinema vouchers were Iris and Milo Bailey-Clay, who guessed all 49 scarecrows correctly.
“We would like to thank our makers and hosts of all the scarecrows and a big thank you to our sponsors of the event, Melksham Tile and Bathroom Centre, 4Stars Dance and Corinthian Stone. We can’t wait to organise our next one.”
