Free football camps in Melksham are giving children of all abilities the chance to play, learn and enjoy the game this August.
The sessions, run by Future of Football (FoF), are taking place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Melksham Oak Community School. The camp has already attracted around 300 children aged six to 15, including some who have never played football before.
The sessions feature action-packed football games, skill challenges, team activities and mini tournaments, all delivered by fully qualified and enthusiastic Future of Football coaches. The initiative is supported by local businesses CMD Recruitment, Elevate Cloud and Franco’s Catering.
Director of Future of Football, James Stapleton, said, “This is one of many initiatives we are starting to make football available to all in our community.
“Our camps are the perfect blend of fun, learning and top-quality coaching – tailored specifically for boys and girls aged under six to under 12.”
Operations manager at CMD Recruitment, Dan Barfoot, added, “We just wanted to give back to the community. It was a great opportunity for us to partner with Franco’s Catering and Elevate Cloud to ensure that children can come along to the event for free and have amazing day.”
The next camps will run on 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th and 28th August. Sessions start at 10am, with early drop-off available from 8.45am.
