WILTSHIRE Mind is promoting World Mental Health day on 10th October by having stands in shopping centres and businesses in the area.
The regular Melksham Peer Support Group is keen to promote good mental health and the Melksham group. They are holding a Tea and Talk open house at the group on Wednesday 11th October between 1pm and 4pm at St Anthony of Padua Church, 22 West End, Melksham.
The support group says, “The Tea and Talk session is open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about the group in Melksham. We welcome new attendees. The group is a friendly group and there’s a real family feel. Members support each other both at the sessions and outside of the group setting and many have developed strong friendships and social connections as a result of attending the group.
“The group is a place where you can talk about your struggles – either in a one-to-one chat with another member or with the group manager – or to the group as a whole. Equally, we have a lot of fun and laughs and take part in a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, drawing, writing, chess, listening to music and occasionally receive talks of topics on interest such as home safety, power of attorney etc.
“If you would like to find out more about the group and gain support in a safe environment, please come along to our Tea and Talk session on 11th October.
