The ever-popular Free Clothes Swap run by Melksham Community Larder is due to return this month at the Assembly Hall.
The event will run on Sunday 21st September and offers a chance for local residents to refresh their wardrobes without spending a penny – while also helping the environment by reducing waste and keeping perfectly good clothes out of landfill.
In the days leading up to the swap, donations of clothes will be accepted at the Assembly Hall.
Simply bring your items in on Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th, or Friday 19th September between 10.30am and 12pm. Clothes must be on hangers (no black bags).
For every item donated, you’ll receive vouchers to spend on new-to-you clothing at Sunday’s swap.
“This is a wonderful way for people to clear out their wardrobes, pick up some fresh finds and make a real difference for sustainability at the same time,” said Adrienne Westbrook, one of the organisers from Melksham Community Larder. “It’s amazing to see how many great items get a second life through this project.”
The Clothes Swap is free to enter and open to everyone in the community. Adrienne said, “Whether you’re looking to donate, browse, or just enjoy the buzz of a community event, Melksham Assembly Hall will be the place to be on Sunday 21st September.”
