Local teenage drummer Joe Thomas is set to rock the main stage of the UK Drum Show in September at the ACC in Liverpool.
Joe, 16, is the drummer for local indie band, the Sunnies, who have recently made their mark on the local festival scene with performances at Chippenham Pride Festival and Mintey Festival, where they were on the same line-up as Scouting for Girls.
He has also played for various local choirs and musical productions and is currently finishing off his Grade 8 music exam, which is the highest grade possible for the Associated Board of the Royal Music Exams.
“Joe is beyond excited to have been invited to play at The UK Drum Show in September,” says his mum, Amy Thomas. “We are incredibly proud of him and that all of his hard work is paying off.”
The UK Drum Show is dedicated to the art of drumming and percussion and provides show visitors with the chance to hear and learn from some of the most respected artists and educators around the world, along with trying and buying some of the latest drum gear.
“Huge shout out to his awesome drum teacher, John Joy, for his incredible teaching and to Joe’s dad, Mike, for all the hard work he puts into Joe’s socials and being his drum tech,” says Amy.
Joe will be playing on the main stage on Sunday 29th September at 3pm.
