Melksham & District Historical Society’s next talk is on the history of Melksham Town Football Club.
It’s being presented by club joint president Dave Phillips on Thursday 20th April at 7.30pm at Melksham Assembly Hall. “Why not bring and MTFC memorabilia you may have?” suggests the club.
For the club’s third presentation of this year’s programme on Thursday 16th March, over 60 people attended, including two new members and 15 visitors. They were treated to a talk on Nonconformist Chapels in Wiltshire by James Holden of The Wiltshire Buildings Record who gave a history of the Nonconformist movement from its Civil War beginnings to the modern day. Photos of Melksham Chapels – not all of which are still standing – were amongst the photo collection used.
Guests are welcome to all the society’s functions at a fee of £3 a session.
