MELKSHAM Oak is celebrating another successful year of GCSE results after nervous students received their grades earlier this month.
55% of Oak GCSE students achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and maths, the same as their 2015 results – a figure which again puts them firmly in the top 25% of schools nationally for progress for the seventh year in a row.
Top performing students included Molly Galloway 6 A*s & 4 As, Lauren Wiltshire 6 A*s & 5 As, Georgina Newman 3 A*s & 7 As, Molly Wells 3 A*s & 4 As, Carrie Dobbin 3 A*s & 4 As, Aleksandra Sikorska 2 A*s & 4 As, Harry Fletcher 1 A* & 7 As, Jack Elmes 1 A* & 8 As and Nancy Karagiannopoulos 1 A* & 6 As.
Assistant headteacher, Aidan Blowers said, “We are delighted with the absolutely outstanding results from the students.
“They’ve worked so hard and given everything they could, so they should all be very proud of themselves. They’ve been well supported by the staff at the school and it just shows how hard work does pay off. We are very proud of all of them.”
