MELKSHAM Comic-Con is gearing up for this year’s event, with organisers claiming it will be ‘bigger and better’ than ever.
The event which takes place over two days for the first time, will be held at the Assembly Hall on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August.
Melksham Comic-Con is the brainchild of Komix comic book shop owner, Hayley Spencer, and brings together a range of exhibitors, leading comic book artists and illustrators.
The venue, Melksham Assembly Hall, will be transformed into a hub of pop culture-fuelled exhibitors with some of the comic book industry’s most talented writers and illustrators, comic book workshops, question and answer sessions, face painting, professional photographs against the backdrop of Gotham city, cosplay and much more, between 10.30am-5pm on Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday
“This year is going to be much bigger and better,” said Hayley. “Not only because it is now over two days instead of one, but also judging by ticket sales, we are expecting to beat the number of people who attended last year by some way and expect around 2,000 people to attend. We have already sold hundreds of pre-sold tickets and expect many to walk up on the day, so it’s fantastic how the event has taken off.
“There’s so much going on! There’s a chance to talk to writers and illustrators, as well as pick up some pretty rare comic books, with talks going on throughout the day. I advise all those who attended last year to be warned that there will not be so much space and to get there early to avoid queues.”
