Melksham Tourist Information Centre has appointed John Ruderman as its new Team Leader.
“Everyone is looking forward to working with John and he has new ideas for making the centre even more successful,” said Pauline Baker, chair of the TIC board. “Mr Ruderman is well-known to many people in Melksham being involved with the Melksham Community Bus Company for some time, both as a driver and a ‘pen pusher’ as he puts it. His wife, Donna is a long-standing member of Melksham Music & Drama who are currently staging the pantomime, ‘Dick Whittington’ at the Rachel Fowler Centre – tickets still available at the Tourist Centre either by calling in person, or telephoning 01225 707 424, but hurry as they are selling fast!
“Meanwhile, the TIC is currently looking for new volunteers to join the organisation which means working one half day per week, being computer literate, a good telephone manner and an interest in people is preferable.
“It’s not too onerous, it’s a lot of fun but on a busy day, don’t expect to get a hot cup of tea, I speak from experience.”
Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can contact John Ruderman on 01225 707424 or call in and leave a name and contact number.
Opening hours are from 9.30am – 4.30pm, four days a week, Wednesday from 9.30am – 1pm and Saturday from 10am – 1pm.
