GRANTS have been awarded to some of Melksham’s organisations and projects by Melksham Town Council.
In a full town council meeting on Monday 19th December, councillors discussed which organisations would receive grants out of the £25,000 grant budget.
Alzheimer’s Support have been granted £1,680 and Melksham Music and Drama have been awarded £1,200.
Other organisations that have been awarded grants are; £191.96 to 2385 Squadron ATC; £750 Age UK Wiltshire; £402 to Melksham Free Dining; £430 to Melksham Phab Club; £350 to Melksham Remembers; £700 to Music for Miniatures; £650 to Splash; £300 to Wessex MS Therapy Centre; £492 to Youth Adventure Trust.
Melksham’s mayor, cllr Simon Crundell said, “We have a difficult job going through these grant applications, all for worthwhile causes. The rules are heart-breaking to implement, but we have to.”
The objective of Melksham Town Council’s Grants’ Scheme is to support and encourage a diverse range of community and youth activities, initiatives and events that meet the needs of the residents of Melksham.
