MELKSHAM Town Council has said farewell to their finance officer and deputy town clerk.
Jean Harris has been with the town council for 31 years, first as the town clerk between 1987 to 1999, then moving into the role of finance officer on a part-time basis. Jean is retiring, but will continue to work with the council in the short-term, to support the handover to the new finance officer.
Deputy town clerk, Clare Harris, is leaving the town council after 16 months in the role to join the team at Marlborough Town Council.
The pair were presented with flowers at last week’s town council asset management meeting. Mayor cllr Adrienne Westbrook said, “Thank you Jean for absolutely everything that you have done. And Clare, thank you for everything in the last 16 months – it’s been an amazing time that you have been here with us.”
