Melksham Town are up to fourth after an impressive 1-0 home win over promotion rivals Helston Athletic on Monday night.
A second-half goal from defender Josh Bennett secured the three points which meant Town leapfrogged the Cornwall side who have impressed this season in their first-ever campaign at this level.
On Saturday, high-flying Yate Town were the opponents and a crowd of over 500 watched a hard fought 1-1 draw against the run-away league leaders.
Henry Sady notched the Melksham goal to condemn Yate to their first defeat of the season.
Town, though, lost their unbeaten away record last Wednesday, 27th November, losing 2-1 at Larkhall Athletic. Sam Hendy had given Town an early lead before Larkhall responded with two goals to take the points.
This Saturday, 7th December, the team are back on their travels when they take on Willand Rovers before back-to-back home games against Falmouth Town the following Saturday, 14th December and Didcot Town on Monday 16th December.
