MELKSHAM’S elite twirl team Enigma, are hosting their first ever fete at the Riverside Club on Saturday 22nd August, 12pm-3pm.
Enigma is raising funds for the troupe so they can continue to entertain the community at community events throughout the year.
They have invited other local groups and sports clubs along to show the talent that the members of Melksham community have. There will be a variety of stalls, a barbecue and other refreshments, tombola, face painting, carnival royalty, bouncy castle and displays by Enigma and local clubs to entertain you throughout the day. The team said, “We are really looking forward to our first ever fete, so please come along and support us.”
The team is also organising a 50s themed dance night which will feature Rock & Roll band, the Cley Hill Stompers. It will take place at the Liberal Club on Saturday 7th November. Tickets will be £10 which will include a buffet dinner.
Enigma is still on a high since their performance at Melksham Carnival which impressed the crowds. They would like to say a huge thank you to all of Melksham and the local community for their support.
Melksham’s Carnival and Party in the Park events are always an important part of Enigma’s calendar as it is a chance to show the troupe’s home town just how much the team has developed and grown.
This year was full-on with more members taking part, and for the first time they performed their new carnival routine, themed Nifty 50s.
The feedback that the team has had from members of the public has been tremendous. Troupe leader Tanya even had someone stop her in the street to say, “The troupe is a credit to Melksham and we were really impressed with Enigma’s performances.”
Tanya said, “The crowd’s support this year at the carnival was electric, and we say thank you to all of you who gave that extra big cheer to our two male supporters who dressed up for us, and were sponsored for doing so, to help raise the much needed funds for the team.
“Fundraising is a fundamental part to Enigma’s existence, the troupe runs as a non-profit organisation which does make grant applications and fundraising harder as we are not a registered charity.
“The team works hard all year round to raise funds. We put on events for the local community to enjoy, like our bingo and quiz nights.”
If there are any other clubs that would like to have a stall at the fete or if anyone would like to sponsor the troupe please contact Tanya on 07702 808079.
